Income investing guide

Researching high-income ETFs? Compare options-income alerts.

If you want income from a speculative account without spending your day entering trades, a high-income ETF may be what you search for first. CycleSpreads offers a different approach: options alerts for trades in your own brokerage account, with eligible actions routed through supported auto-trading partners.

What is available?

Some ways people might seek investment income

These choices work differently. CycleSpreads offers the trade alert service described below; it does not offer an ETF or manage a hedge fund.

High-income ETFs

You buy shares of a fund. Depending on its objective, a fund seeking high distributions may hold dividend-paying securities, bonds, or use options. Review its holdings, expense ratio, source of distributions, and total return; a high distribution rate is not the same as overall performance.

Private or managed funds

A manager invests under a fund's terms. Fees, eligibility, reporting, and withdrawal rights vary. Some hedge funds impose lockups or redemption restrictions, so read the offering documents before committing capital.

Options trade alerts

CycleSpreads sends program alerts. You can follow them manually, or supported partners can route eligible alerts for execution in your own brokerage account. Your assets stay under your control in that account. Auto-trading handles eligible trade actions, while options approval and trading risk still apply.

Some high-income ETFs use option premiums too. In an ETF, those trades take place inside the fund. In CycleSpreads' programs, eligible alerts can be executed in your brokerage account. The account structure, costs, and published performance measures are different.

Find a starting point

Choose by account size and the kind of risk you can accept

For a smaller speculative account, the Credit Spreads approach uses defined-risk positions; the program suggests $10K or more. Wheel trading uses cash-secured puts and covered calls and can involve owning shares after assignment. Program 3 suggests $20K or more. Max Income and Portfolio Replication Service are designed for larger accounts, with different pace and sizing.

The four programs use those two trading approaches. If you are considering $100K-$500K for speculative trading, contact us before allocating to discuss which program and account setup you are considering. A conversation is not a promise of suitability or future income.

Before you decide

Compare the whole result, not just the income line

An ETF distribution, a fund return, and option premium receipts are different measures. On this site, the percentage figures summarize weekly Return on Risk; Max Income and PRS dollar figures report option income receipts from specific positions. They do not measure the change in an entire account's value. See the individual performance pages and calculation FAQ for the method and history.

Compare subscription charges, broker and trading costs, fund expenses where relevant, and the risks of each choice. Automation can reduce order entry; it cannot remove market risk, guarantee execution, or guarantee income.
